Porkstock is a one-night event kicking off this year’s 15th Ever BBQ On The River. Event organizers selected the Porkstock moniker to commemorate this year’s 40th anniversary of the famed rock music event, Woodstock.
Porkstock, sponsored by The Law Office of Andrew T. Coiner, features the area’s best musicians and purveyors of smoked meat. This year’s musical lineup includes Southern Jazz, The Neglectarines, Dirt Daubers, The Union Suit, The Hi Fi Ninja and features DJ Extraordinaire Tony Foo Yong.
Porkstock begins at 5:07 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the downtown Paducah flood wall opening, which is the traditional site for BBQ On The River stage. Those of you old enough to remember know Richie Havens began the festivities at Woodstock at 5:07 p.m.
Porkstock features a beer and wine garden.
Porkstock tickets are $10.00 for general admission. Reserved seat tickets are $25.00 and come with a commemorative Porkstock tambourine, a specially-prepared BBQ sandwich, two side items and a drink ticket for an adult beverage or a soft drink. VIP tables for 10 are available for $500.00 and seat 10. VIP tables include Woodstock-inspired decor, commemorative tambourines, world-famous Buzzard Brothers BBQ featuring culinary artist Laura Duff’s sides and appetizers; two drink tickets per person and a night to remember.
Porkstock proceeds go to BBQ On The River, a non-profit organization that leads the way for over 70 different charities to participate in a yearly event which raises over $300,000.00 for LOCAL charities and annually attracts more than 40,000 visitors to Paducah. |
